For once, the co-owner of Boltfish Recordings has seen fit to produce some music of his own. Murray Fisher's latest offering is 'Chasing Shadows'; a four-track 3" EP released on the Belgian imprint U-Cover. The dominant track must be the one which bears the EP title; a slow-building epic of glacial melody and by the end of its eight minutes, there's a sense that something special has occured. 'Heart Shaped' is much moodier and cinematic in feel; not dissimilar to the noirish foreboding 'Vighurs' which concludes the CD. In between, 'A Figure On Horseback' seems a little too busy at first but soon the melancholic tune takes hold and doesn't rest until its denouement. With this excellent release, Fisher seems destined for film soundtrack work.
