Earworm Records sign off their brief but highly enjoyable label history with a round-up of 15 tracks; 5 each from 3 hitherto unknown artists. Hailing from Russia - not a country normally associated with the cutting edge of electronica - Roricat supply a curious mix of quirky, unfocused bleeps and then some considerably more acceptable forays into trip-hop. FortDax, from the relatively safer environs of England, deliver two excellent tracks in the shape of the late-70s Kraftwerk-like 'W.H.Coder' and the ambient/haunting chanting featured on 'Solfege'. They lose their way a bit after that as do EU but they prove themselves to be more than useful exponents of drum and bass. With each collective revealing potential in different branches of the electronica family tree here's hoping they go on to achieve further success on their own.
