The ever-improving German label, Kitty-Yo has come up trumps again with this latest release from Tarwater. 'Animals, Suns & Atoms' is a fine lesson in how to turn repetitive patterns and lugubrious vocals into something strangely compelling and fascinating. 'All Of The Ants Left Paris' and 'Seven Ways To Fake A Perfect Skin' could be Joy Division having an unusually happy day, and on the other side of the coin, 'Noon' is seven minutes of stuttering drum beats over a hypnotic piano riff; guest female vocals making the track easier on the ear than one would expect. Able support is provided by the cold, comtemporary 'Early Risers' and 'Song Of The Moth'. Tarwater are definitely a band to watch.
