Soulo proffer highly creditable warm electronica on their self-titled mini album across nine vaguely similar tracks. They reveal Teutonic influences from old stagers like Kraftwerk to relative newcomers like Tarwater and the Notwist; there is also an undercurrent of dream-like folkiness that points to Ultramarine. The mood is never less than pretty and melodic, none more so than on the delightful '24 Hours On The Phone' and 'Whatever You Want' which evokes drawn-out lonely evenings but in a good way. This is by no means an effort to set the heart racing but Soulo are just a few small steps from greatness.
