Music Is A Hungry Ghost

Album Reviews
Proving that Germany are still the country to watch when it comes to bubbling electronica, To Rococo Rot are perhaps more famous for their remixing skills for other artists but this is in fact their fourth album. 'Music Is A Hungry Ghost' is is a cold, calculated affair with a heart of black ice. Nowadays of course the genre of electronic music is full to the brim with artists; many of them signed to the Kitty-Yo Records label, nevertheless the group still managed to carve out their own unique identity and they aren't so insular as to reject assistance from brought-in musicians. In this case New York DJ I-Sound helps to produce, bass guitar is promiment and renowned violinist Alexander Balunescu is added to the mix. Rather like Kraftwerk, but perhaps even more aloof, this is an impressive, comtemporary collection of electronic music.
