One of the first (hopefully of many) bands to arise from Earworm records, Fridge are an instrumental band who released a compilation containing 7" and 12" singles and mixes of their earlier career nearer the beginning of 1999. This, then, is their third proper album and although it's hardly a classic it shows real indication of an emerging talent (the band members are around the age of 20). 'Ark' opens the album and 'Aphelion' closes it and both demonstrate their abilities to meld electronic beats and rhythms to sound magical and mysterious; they build slowly but gather strength and momentum as the tracks unwind. The aforementioned instrumentals take up half the space on this sensibly short album but the gaps in between are filled by little curios which merit further listening. Greatness beckons.
