'Music For People' is a swift follow-up to VAST's debut. Unsurprisingly there's no radical change of musical direction. Jon Crosby's voice is still rich whilst the songs - although firmly entrenched in goth territory - contain dark melodies that are kicking and screaming to get out. There's also slightly less reliance on East-European choirs, just an odd sample here or there. At its best, as on 'Free', 'I Don't Have Anything' and 'Song Without A Name', the music is powerful, stirring and invigorating and slower, less guitar-heavy numbers such as 'Blue' and 'We Will Meet Again' deserve special mention for deviating from the gothic grind formula. In short, this album will please those who liked the last one.
