With a manifesto even more unwieldy than their name, The Technoillogical Myopia claim that their EP "suppurates eclecticism and imbibes from the musical flowing of our time". Thankfully a degree in English Language is not necessary to enjoy their dark, electronic music which - although always lyrically adventurous - is easier to listen to than you might expect. The first three tracks form a basis of the mood which is unsettling and tense but never oppressive. However, the final three tracks are far more direct thanks to Ana's strong vocal performance and a more conventional approach to song structure; 'Mantra' and 'War' deliciously embracing modern goth dramatics. Ultimately, 'Magma' is a skillful balance between experimentation and clarity.
