Germany's Yakooza are represented by five angry young men who are here to present the bleaker moments in life. They have a lot in common with Brit-band Seafood with whom they share a modus operandi for intense and brittle guitar work as well as low-speed downbeat numbers. It is the latter in which Yakooza excel at as evidenced with 'Eye Say No' and the dark chill that resonates through 'Spain Again' and 'Fall At Your Feet'. It's when they rock out they fare less well with cries of "Ready to rock, ready to roll" doing them no favours. The fact that 'Meet The Feebles' is self-produced lends the project a convincing but ultimately claustrophobic feel but - at their best - they prove more than capable of matching their soundalikes in an already-overcrowded genre.
