Now into a decade of DJ work, the artist known as VayderX presents 'Capacity', his second EP of "downtempo breakbeat electronica". Citing the ever-popular Boards Of Canada and DJ Shadow as influences, it's hard to tell from the first few tracks of the record as the music seems like a very bright kind of techno music; certainly accessible enough but mysterious and filmic atmospheres don't appear to figure too highly on the agenda. It's all very serviceable but events don't really get exciting until the fifth track 'Sam Awry' where a lovely synth melody kicks in and it's joined not long after by the frosty breeze of 'Counterclockwise'. Ultimately a lot more commercially viable than VayderX seems to think, however, the best tracks are still the ones where he deviates from the formula.
