Only a die-hard would claim that Echo And The Bunnymen could recapture the glories of the first five years of their recording career. 'Siberia' could be perceived as another disappointment but it's not without its charms. Comparable to 1987's self-titled effort, it possess that same relaxed, melodic style. Ian McCulloch's vocals may have lost the youthful spirit but its rich with Liverpudlian broodiness whilst Will Sergeant's distinctive swirling guitar work remains the key ingredient. This is a consistently decent record with the highlights being the subtle and mysterious 'In The Margins' rubbing shoulders with more anthemic fare such as 'All Because Of You Days' and 'Everything Kills You'. With Sergeant and McCulloch both now a few years away from the half century, The Bunnymen still remain a dignified proposition.
