Always one of the more interesting propositions from the 70's, Roxy Music are one of the bands it's always fashionable to like. Dressed in smart suits and performing art rock with Brian Eno on board, they couldn't really fail. To be honest though much of their work has been rather overrated. This album contains some very impressive pieces from the opening salvo of the punchy 'Do The Strand' and the delicately rolling 'Beauty Queen' to the sinister, more understated 'In Every Dream Home A Heartache'; a song about a man's obsession with his blow-up doll. However, this album contains the horribly bloated 'The Bogus Man' which seems to last forever and proved a point to some that art rock bands were often clever, clever rather than just clever.
