Rico is the work of a young Scottish musician who is clearly influenced by industrial rock music such as the type pursued by Trent Reznor's Nine Inch Nails. All the elements appear to be in place; Rico's growling voice sounding forever menacing whilst frantic and loud metal music is played in the background. The opening double whammy of 'Shave Your Head' and 'Aeroplane' are fine examples of this brand of music. However, when Rico slows down the pace like on 'Float', 'This + That' and 'Sanctuary Medicines' itself the effect is probably even more menacing. Genuinely evil sounding music indeed.
