The recent Kitty-Yo Records compilation, Freiscwimmer, provided a mainly fascinating journey into a record label that seems to be getting better and better all the time. The standout track from that collection is featured on Raz Ohara's debut album here. In all honesty, 'Gone To The Moon' is probably the best example of work on offer here too but the overall feel is of a thoroughly maverick yet cohesive style. 'Where Is My Mind' blends flamenco rhythms with a catchy synthesised melody but on the whole the music is composed of skittering beats, panicky vocals on every track (rather than the usual self-indulgent instrumentals all too common on dance/hip-hop albums) and a rather claustrophobic sound. Germany, so often reviled in the music world since the days of former pioneers Kraftwerk seem to be getting their act together all of a sudden.
