The Secret Sickliness

Album Reviews
Hailing from Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Piskie Sits are what can now be called a typical band for Wrath Records. Like many of this roster, they embrace slacker melodies, a DIY ethic and a certain scruffy charm. The simplest reference point to find has to Pavement in terms of smart lyrics and the mildly histrionic vocals from frontman Craig Hale. As unoriginal as it may sound, 'The Secret Sickliness' is a cracking set of songs from the pop urgency of 'Big Fat Mouth' and the thrilling denouement to 'Good To Eat', to the giddily discordant 'What Is The Point?' and the fantastic Undertones-like 'El Capo'. A glorious racket that's easy to love.
