Brimming with energy and intensity, Dublin's Humanzi can defy anyone who says there is no room for any more post-punk/funk outfits. Spiky, angular guitars and muscular rhythms drive anthemic opener 'Long Time Coming'. The vocals compare to The Arcade Fire but here they're refined in to no-nonsense songs, far removed from the more theatrical Canadians. This is the kind of EP where even the synth on 'Help Me In The Morning' is delivered in breathless style and the exciting noise of the finale 'Mass Hypnosis Psychosis' is another thriller. Fittingly, this is mesmerising and surprisingly fresh punk music.
