AC Acoustics have reliably been soldering on with their emotional indie rock for a decade now. 'O' is their fourth effort which doesn't differ noticeably from the last (2000's superb 'Understanding Music'), so much so that this year's effort could have been recorded in the same studio session. Naturally this leads them to sound a little jaded, particularly as the album draws towards the unspectacular arrangements of the second half of the album. A shame because the three-song run of 'Clone Of Al Capone', '16 4 2010' and 'Bright Anchor (Anchor Me)' see the band at their most resolutely anthemic. Yet despite still trailing in the wake of soundalikes Kitchens Of Distinction, their craftsmanship and durability make them a very admirable band.
